Day 1 – Sulmona
Arrival in sulmona. Accomodation in the hotel. Free time. supper and overnight accommodation.
Day 2 – Santo Stefano di Sessanio- Castel del Monte – Navelli
Departure for Santo Stefano di Sessanio. Tour of the town where you can buy the lentils, the local speciality . The tour continues to Castel del Monte. Walk through the little borough, well-known for its product of excellence: the “canestrato”. Stop and visit at a local holding (zootecnical farm). Light lunch based on local products. Afterwards departure to Navelli, thought to be the gateway to the Abruzzi Parks, known all over the world for its red gold: the precious saffron. Return to the hotel where you can taste and purchase the confetti (sugared almonds).
Day 3 – Scanno – Villalago
After the breakfast, departure to Scanno. Borough visit and discovery of the local traditions and folklore. Lunch in a typical restaurant. Tasting of the local traditional sweet “Pan dell’orso”. Continuation of the tour to Villalago with panoramic stops. Return to the hotel.
Supper and overnight accommodation.
Day 4 – Pettorano sul Gizio – Pescocostanzo – Costa dei Trabocchi
Departure for Pettorano sul Gizio and Pescocostanzo. At the arrival enjoyable guided walks through the wonderful boroughs. Light lunch. Continuation of the tour towards the Trabocchi Coast or surrounding areas. Accomodation in hotel. “Arrosticini”- based dinner (grilled skewered pieces of meat). Overnight accommodation.
Day 5 – San Vito Chietino – Casoli – Vasto
Beginning of the day with a nice walk through the borough San Vito Chietino. In the morning, visit to a local holding and a winehouse. Light lunch. Continuation of the tour to Vasto with several panoramic stops along the route. Visit of the historic centre of the town and supper with typical dish: the “brodetto di pesce alla vastese” (vastese fish soup). Return to the hotel and overnight accommodation.
Day 6 – Guardiagrele – Ortona
After the breakfast, departure for Guardiagrele. Walk to explore the small town. Second breakfast with the local sweet “le Sise delle Monache”(made up of two layers of soft sponge cake filled with custard). Keep on with a visit to a beekeeping holding (only in spring). In other seasons visit of a winehouse and tasting. Light lunch. Panoramic stops along the route. In the afternoon arrival in Ortona, walk down the streets leading to the aragonese castle, St. Thomas Cathedral and the striking passeggiata Orientale (promenade overlooking the splendid sea). Supper on a Trabocco. Overnight accommodation.
Day 7 – End of services
Breakfast and check out.
